The photojournal and portfolio of Nathan Acks.
This year I attended HOPE 12, The Circle of HOPE. “HOPE” stands for “Hackers on Planet Earth”, and is one of the older hacker conferences in the US. It’s put on every other year by the crew from 2600 Magazine.
Attending HOPE is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. While I didn’t take any photos in the conference itself, these are a few photos I took around the event.
A weekend at Great Sand Dunes National Park. Technically a work trip, but I managed to fit in one short hike on the dunes!
A short excursion to Bear Lake and the Alphine Visitor Center in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Nathan Acks lives in the Western United States. Over the years he's worked with a variety of different formats, from disposable point-and-shoot film cameras to high-end digital formats. These days he focuses on pushing the limits of smarrtphone photography.
When not photographing his adventures, Nathan spends his time thinking about the future and working to change the world for the better at a national non-profit.
